Meet our Shidler Global Leaders

The Business Executive Society of Tomorrow is thrilled to congratulate three of our outstanding members who have earned a well-deserved spot in the Shidler Global Leaders program. This program aims to recognize and assist students who exhibit the potential for outstanding success in their business education, and to excel in both their undergraduate studies and future endeavors, making them promising future leaders in business and the community.

She has served on the Executive Board as Secretary twice during the 2022-2023 academic year and is currently serving as the Director of Finance for the Fall 2023 semester. Here is what Rachel has to say about her experiences:

Q: How has Shidler helped you achieve your goals?

A: Shidler has helped me achieve my goals by preparing me academically with industry knowledge and opportunities to practice what I have learned in the Hawaii business community. Shidler hosts many professional events, such as Business Night and the Internship & Career Expo, both of which are events where I am able to demonstrate skills I have attained from my time at Shidler.

Q: Shidler Global Leaders study abroad once in their two year term. Where are you going to study abroad and how did the program help facilitate this travel?

A: Next semester, I will be attending National Taiwan University, where I plan on taking finance and international business courses. The Shidler Global Leaders program has helped make my goals of studying abroad a reality, not only by providing financial support but also with the assistance of administration to facilitate my time abroad.

Q: What is the best thing you have learned while being a Shidler Global Leader?

A: As a Shidler Global Leader, I engage in both service-to-school events and community service projects with my cohort. Through these experiences, I have realized the importance of community, as I serve not only my peers, the general Shidler community, but the greater Hawaii community as a whole.
